Performing Arts Club

The Saint Benedict Academy Performing Arts Club, known as PAC around campus, is open to students in grades 3-6. PAC students meet weekly in the fall in workshops that focus on acting technique, choreography, and working as part of a team. The spring session is spent rehearsing and producing a production. This year, PAC presents the musical "Annie Jr." - an elementary school adaptation of the classic Broadway musical. Family and friends enjoyed PAC's production of "Annie Jr." on Friday, May 15 at 7 PM in the school gym. IMG_0360 IMG_6335Leapin' Lizards! "Annie" is the world-wide phenomenon, was the winner of seven TONY Awards including Best Musical. With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find her parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She finds a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. Memorable songs include: "Tomorrow" and "Hard Knock Life." Annie JR. is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. 421 West 54th Street, New York, NY 10019. • There IS a dress rehearsal on THURSDAY after school at 2:30. We will try to have students out at 4:30, but please be patient if they run a little late.  We're trying to teach them the responsibility of putting their costumes away the right way, and helping break down the set, so this takes time.  Thank you for your patience.
  • On Friday, students should go home after school, get something to eat, rest and hydrate, then shower and clean up for the show.  Please help them, again, to remember everything they need for the show.  They should come with hair and make-up DONE.  WE WILL NOT have time for students to put on their make-up at school, nor do we have the room so please allow them to do it at home, as they have been instructed.
  • Students should return to SBA at 6 pm on FRIDAY so that we can complete our warm-ups before the show.
  • PARENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE DOORS UNTIL 6:45. The production begins promptly at seven. Please silence all electronic devices - video recording is NOT permitted.
  • There is, as always, a free-will donation toward future PAC performances at the door on the night of the performance.  We appreciate and count on your continued support to bring your children the great training and shows they love so much!!
  • If you have any questions, please do not call Mrs. Gravel for answers.  Please email Mrs. Hauck directly at  and she will get back to you as quickly as she can.
