Pumpkin Patch Visit

On Friday, October 25, Kindergarten students traveled to Wilson Farm in Litchfield for a Pumpkin Patch Field Trip.

The Kindergarten arrived at the farm and were amazed at the large orange and white pumpkins that were displayed near the farm store. After a class picture, the children walked through the greenhouse to see pumpkins of many different shapes and sizes. The students recited their “Dingle Dangle Pumpkin” poem for our host while they waited for Farmer Emory to arrive. The children and their chaperones boarded a colorful tractor for a ride through the sprawling riverside landscape of Wilson Farm. The children saw crops being grown and harvested and a flock of Canadian geese resting up for their long migration to the South. The ride ended in the middle of a pumpkin patch where children selected a pumpkin to take home. The rest of the morning was spent sampling hot cocoa and apple cider, racing Mrs. Connors and Ms. Dooley around the field, and exploring a working barn with goats and chickens.

A special thank you to our parent and family volunteers who joined us for a morning of fun!
