Rosary Prayer Service

RosaryGentle woman, quiet light,
morning star, so strong and bright,
gentle Mother, peaceful dove,
teach us wisdom; teach us love.

Students in Mrs. Timpe’s fifth grade class and their prayer partners in Mrs. Connors’ Kindergarten class led the Saint Benedict Academy student body in a Rosary Prayer Service on Tuesday, October 28. October is a month set aside for special attention to the Most Holy Rosary. Students learned about the origins of the Rosary and how to pray this contemplative expression of our Catholic faith. Parents may be interested in reading Saint John Paul II’s apostolic letter “The Rosary of the Virgin Mary” to further educate themselves about this prayer and the special place that it has in our faith and for our families.

During the prayer service, students led their fellow students, teachers, and members of the wider SBA community in a recitation of one decade of the Rosary. Music teacher Mr. Benjamin O’Brien then accompanied the students in singing “Hail Mary: Gentle Woman.”
