Saint Nicholas Visits SBA!

The Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of Saint Nicholas on December 6 each year. Today, Wednesday, December 18, the historic 4th century Catholic Saint and Greek Bishop visited the Kindergarten to third grade students accompanied by an elf. Saint Nicholas quizzed the students about his life and then gave each one a chocolate coin in keeping with the saint’s reputation for leaving coins in the shoes of those children who left their shoes out for him.

Our Saint Nicholas – of course – was our friend and pastor of Saint Raphael’s Parish – Father Jerome Day, O.S.B. He donned the costume of Saint Nicholas and joined parish secretary Kerri Stanley in bringing the joy of the Advent and Christmas season to our young students.
