Students in Kindergarten through Grade 2 visited the Squam Lake Natural Science Center in Holderness, NH on June 4 for a field trip to culminate their recent studies in science on animals, habitats, and conservation. Each grade attended a special class where they got “up close and personal” with different animals – second graders saw a hawk, wood turtle, and a snake! The students also had the opportunity to walk through the trail and encounter a number of animals in their habitat exhibit including: coyote, black bears, white tailed deer, bobcats, mountain lions, gray and red foxes, and number of raptors such as the Bald Eagle. Students were eager to ask questions of the Science Center Staff as they learned more about animals from across our State.
