Third Grade at Canterbury Shaker Village

The third grade enjoyed a great day at Canterbury Shaker Village.  Instead of reading from a textbook how the Shakers lived they were able to experience it.  They entered the meeting house with boys and girls using separate doors, then learned to sing and dance to a Shaker song.  The  third grade learned to write their names in cursive while keeping a mint on their hands.  The best part was getting to eat the mint when they finished.  They left Canterbury Shaker Village with some beans in a seed packet that was invented by the Shakers.  Wow!
